Phil Royston

CEO

After a bit of a journeyman IT career starting in the late 1980s, he practically fell into the software testing world in 2002. He hasn't looked back since and still loves what he does. In 2013, he co-founded Tesena | Smart Testing with the slightly ambitious, but very seriously intended goal of changing the software testing world. He enjoys working with our clients to help solve their testing and software quality challenges at individual, team, group, and organizational levels. Beyond his commitment to advancing software quality, he is also dedicated to education and professional development. As a lecturer of courses, he shares his extensive knowledge and experience, shaping the next generation of IT professionals. Phil regularly shares what he learned as a speaker at conferences, further contributing to the industry's growth and evolution.

Miroslav Renda

Test Manager

Mirek has been in various project roles in the IT business for more than 25 years. For the last 8 years, he has enjoyed interesting projects in the large Czech banks and the automotive sector as a test manager. He contributed to the Efektivní testování software book published by GRADA. He loves his two children, nature and sport in any form.

Radek Šikola

Test Manager

Radek has been in software testing for over 15 years. He currently works as a Test Manager, Delivery Manager, and supervisor for IT and business. Radek’s main domains include telecommunications, banking, and the public sector.

Kamila Kozakovičová

Test Analyst

Kamila has been in testing since 2010. During that time, she went through several banks, where she stood, for example, at the very beginnings of Smartbanking. Kamila has experience in testing Internet banking, mobile applications, and databases. Since 2017, when she started working in Tesena, she has been working on projects at, for example, Erste bank or KB. She trains SQL and Test analysis courses.

Sandra Klašková

Test Manager

What I value most about Tesena is that it has always been pro-employee because the owners know that a satisfied employee performs better. Thanks to this, we can learn, grow, we have a great team, and I know I don't have to be afraid to voice my opinion. I haven't encountered this kind of approach anywhere else :-).

Tomáš Hák

Test automation specialist

Tomáš has been in testing for more than 13 years. He was at the beginnings of automated testing in companies, such as Jobs.cz (LMC), Kolonial (today Košík), Mall.cz, testing of George banking and some Česká Spořitelna APIs, and most recently participated in the test automation of Škoda Auto. He has used a variety of tools and programming/scripting languages. In the last four years, in Tesena, he has primarily used Python and the Robot Framework built on top of it.

Michal Jirka

Test Automation Engineer

I have been involved in testing for quite a few years; I started sometime in early 2017. I have already completed several projects in various (mostly) automation positions, alternately in the areas of banking and automotive. I enjoy talking to people, and trainings, workshops, and consultations provide a great opportunity for that! When I'm not engaged in conversation, I like to play sports, eat, or simply hang out, sometimes combining these hobbies in various ways.

Jan Harák

Senior Test Automation Engineer

Honza is an experienced test automation engineer with over eight years of experience. In the last four years, he has focused on API and integration testing automation in the Česká spořitelna environment. He began his professional career as a manual tester and gradually worked through various industries, including the automotive industry and banking. In addition to testing, he also enjoys developing mobile applications and organizing the Tesena Klikaton competition.

Marina Mulyukina

Automation QA engineer

Marina is a passionate software tester and has been exploring the boundary between software and testing for over 4 years. Her love for software testing began years ago when she started as a manual tester, and she is currently working as an automated QA engineer. She enjoys spending time exploring software testing concepts and using new tools. Marina loves sharing her experiences by participating in tech communities. She envisions a testing environment that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and shared expertise. Additionally, interesting facts about Marina are that she is a driver, loves the mountains, and occasionally visits Berghain.

Martin Vedral

Test Manager

I have more than 8 years of experience in testing. I've been on various projects from banking or automotive environments as a Test Engineer, Test Analyst, Test Coordinator and Test Manager I have several ISTQB certifications including ISTQB Advanced – Test Analyst. I get involved in other company activities such as training of SQL and internal projects working on company’s transition to self-organizing.

David Sedláček

Test Manager

I left development and have been primarily involved in quality assurance and management for more than 8 years. Since 2018, I have also been working on projects related to AI/ML, and today I am interested in the practical use of artificial intelligence in design and quality assurance.

Eliška Reisingerová

Training & Events Manager

I’m someone who thrives on exploring and discovering new areas. My journey has taken me from real estate through finance and tourism, and a growing desire to help others even led me into social services. However, my analytical mind soon realized that the non-profit sector wouldn’t support my dreams financially. Despite this, I know I’m at my best when I’m around people—I love embracing human diversity. Building meaningful relationships and helping others are essential to who I am, and I can’t imagine my life without them. I never expected to find myself in the IT field, but at Tesena, I’ve discovered the perfect balance between my socially driven heart and my rational mind. I nurture my soul through personal development activities and keep my body healthy with running, acroyoga, and sauna sessions.

Radek Bednařík

Senior Test Automation Engineer

Testing is the best job of my life. And since I have quite a bit of experience, I believe that's a fair assessment. I've been through academia, economic journalism, and PR, but I've never enjoyed my work as much as I do now. In testing, I focus on automation using Python and JavaScript. Besides testing, I also create things—check out my GitHub.

Michal Dančák

Senior Test Engineer

Michal has been working in testing since 2016, when he joined Tesena after studying logic at Charles University. Most of his time at Tesena has been dedicated to databases on banking projects for Česká spořitelna, Erste, and KB. In all these cases, he worked with Oracle SQL and its procedural extension PL/SQL, for which he co-created a training course in 2018. In his free time, he primarily enjoys bouldering and board games.

Lucie Lavičková

Senior Test Automation Engineer

Lucie Lavičková (born Třísková) has been working in testing for over 8 years, during which she has gained experience on projects in both the Czech Republic and Germany for international companies such as IBM, Commerzbank, Datev, and NEORIS/CEMEX. She currently works at Tesena as a Senior Test Engineer, specializing in test automation for agile projects.

Klára Pavlíčková (Siegelová)

Test and Delivery Manager

Klára works as a test manager across several different projects. In addition, she is actively involved in the development of Tesena. She has experience in an international environment and is currently helping to improve products for one of the largest European banking institutions.

Dmytro Borysov

Test Automation Engineer

Dmytro has almost five years of experience in the testing field. The last two and half years, he is mainly focused on automation testing. He is specialised in programming tests in Python and Robot framework and is also familiar in using Postman for manual API testing.

Lucie Paulíčková

People Care Partner Senior

I have over 7 years of experience in HR within international companies, specializing in recruitment, training, and business partnering. For the past 3.5 years, I’ve been working at Tesena, where I’ve been supporting the company’s transition towards a self-managed organizational model. Additionally, I’m involved in Quality Engineering activities, such as organizing workshops and helping people develop skills in communication, facilitation, and other "human" skills.
