Why attend the course?

We invite you to a playful workshop where we will dive together into the world of alternative approaches to software testing and development. In this interactive setting, you’ll get hands-on experience with Botley robots, which will help you grasp complex testing and development concepts in a fun and practical way. In a city where robots will be roaming the streets and delivering pizzas, you’ll have the chance to use various testing methods to ensure everything runs smoothly.

In small teams, you will try out approaches like Risk-based testing, Model-based testing, Exploratory testing, and Acceptance test-driven development.

You’ll discover that even without programming knowledge, you can immerse yourself in testing methodologies and learn how to apply them not only in an agile environment but beyond as well.

Key Topics

Model-based testing:
We will demonstrate with a practical example how model-based testing and the closely related technique of state-transition-based test design can work in practice. When can this approach be useful, and when can it become more of a hindrance?

Exploratory testing:
The approach of "I'm not testing, just clicking around" is definitely not what it seems. We'll show that, in practice, this is far from the case and that exploratory testing is a legitimate and highly valuable approach to software testing.

Acceptance test-driven development:
Why do we want to automate acceptance tests and not wait until the UAT phase? We’ll answer this question through a practical demonstration of this approach.

Risk-based testing:
This approach allows us to catch most critical and blocking issues at an early stage of testing. How does it work to get the most out of it?

At the workshop, you will have the opportunity to try out all these approaches in practice and explore new ways of working with software testing.

Prerequisities

  • The course is not suitable for complete beginners. We recommend at least 2 years of experience in testing.
  • This course can be particularly beneficial for coordination, analytical, or managerial roles.

Test Manager

What I value most about Tesena is that it has always been pro-employee because the owners know that a satisfied employee performs better. Thanks to this, we can learn, grow, we have a great team, and I know I don't have to be afraid to voice my opinion. I haven't encountered this kind of approach anywhere else :-).

What I enjoy about working at Tesena is the variety of work, the opportunities, the people and the support we have here. I can't imagine being anywhere else or with different people now.
