Who we are?

Tesena is a well-established Czech company with a unique non-hierarchical and self-managing culture. We are driven by our mission to empower development teams with quality engineering practices. We provide testing and quality engineering services, consultancy, customized training for companies and open courses. We organise the only Czech conference focused on software testing.

Job announcement: 

Until now, the company has been run directly by the owners. One of the owners has been CEO for the last 5 years. Now they are ready to hand over the management of the company to someone new.

Key Responsibilities:

Company Vision & Culture

  • Affirm and uphold the company’s purpose and vision.
  • Foster and protect company culture, ensuring authenticity and alignment.
  • Identify and address cultural misalignments or behaviors that threaten company values.
  • Act as a role model, inspiring and motivating employees towards a shared vision.

Strategic Alignment & Market Positioning

  • Maintain an overview of market trends, ensuring company strategy remains relevant.
  • Align business goals with industry changes and internal objectives.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, strengthening relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

Company Development & Organizational Growth

  • Drive continuous improvement and learning, fostering an environment of innovation.
  • Ensure the company evolves to meet the demands of a complex and changing world.
  • Support and guide organizational evolution, encouraging distributed responsibility and empowerment.
  • Promote open, transparent, and effective internal communication.

Operations, Finance & Compliance

  • Ensure critical business operations, financial processes, legal compliance, and security measures are effectively managed and continuously improved.
  • Balance financial resources to maintain efficient and sustainable operations.
  • Based on alignment with owners set and monitor financial targets, adjusting strategies as needed without rigid adherence to outdated plans.
  • Align financial goals with business growth and market positioning.

Decision-Making & Conflict Resolution

  • Facilitate collaborative decision-making while stepping in when tough or unpopular decisions must be made.
  • Address and resolve conflicts, particularly those affecting financial, cultural, or legal boundaries.
  • Ensure company stability by taking executive responsibility for critical financial, legal, and tax-related matters.

Maintaining Internal & External Harmony

  • Balance competing priorities such as culture vs. sales, delivery vs. operations, and personal vs. company-wide goals.
  • Ensure integration of various functions, initiatives, and individuals to maintain organizational cohesion.
  • Sense and correct imbalances in the company’s business operating system to ensure long-term success.

Selection Process

We have a three-round selection process in which candidates will meet with the owners as well as representatives from various teams. The process includes a structured interview, a case study where candidates will present their vision for the company's development, and for selected candidates, an open meeting with employees, where they will answer their questions.

We are open to add more meetings to clarify expectations if needed.
